From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, demons, and dark forces expanding in strength within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might look mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to go next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could assist the group enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to round up the Seekers and Schemers tables.
Fans can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
